Buckner Industrial Rigging (BIR) was awarded the lifting and rigging support for the removal of an existing 40,000lb centrifugal water chiller and the install of a new chiller weighing 50,000lbs.

 The challenging aspects of the project were working in an operational hospital in a restricted space only 17’ wide. With the Chillers measuring 21’ long, 12’ wide, and having to be lifted to a second floor elevation of 24’, there remained very little room for the removal and installation. Utilizing there engineered lift and rigging plans it was determined the best equipment for the project was a 250ton Gantry system and their 50ton Trilifter.

 The project was completed on time, under budget, without incident, and exceeding the client’s expectations.
