Clyde Preston Buckner started CP Buckner Steel after his discharge from WWII. Our company has been family owned and operated since 1947. We pride ourselves on having a tight-knit company with employees who have been a part of our work family for over 25 years. Our company strives to be a true stakeholder with every client, becoming the vehicle for success in all of your challenging ventures through collaboration and communication. Our mission is to provide safe, efficient and experienced solutions to complex and demanding heavylift crane projects. Buckner aims to be the best in class at all endeavors. In early 2018 Buckner shifted our knowledge and effort to solely heavylift crane services to better serve you, the customer. Working as one team, with one goal and one focus, our goal to help you find your solution is in full swing.

A Core of Steel
Started in 1947 CP Buckner Inc was initially forged in the steel industry. Starting out as a crew of rod-busters, the company grew into Buckner Steel Erection. With a focus on steel erection the company continued to grow both regionally and nationally through the middle of the century. In the early to mid 1980s the Buckner HeavyLift Division began to emerge as the company acquired additional equipment to support the steel division and other partners. In the early 2000s all divisions had tremendous growth with the addition of major equipment. As our relationship with manufacturers, specifically Liebherr, grew in the early 2000s Buckner became the largest owner of Liebherr crawler cranes in the Americas. In 2018, Buckner Steel Erection and American Steel & Precast Erectors joined forces to become one company, and Buckner HeavyLift Cranes became the sole focus of Buckner HeavyLift. Through the past seven decades Buckner HeavyLift has formed, combining experience with forward thinking to become the trusted, industry leader it is today.
